House of MA presents Kick A$$ urban wear

Kick A$$ wear

House of MA fashion presents Kick A$$ urban wear, this is a special range that will be out in the street by winter of this year 2014.  I as Xolile "Great Geneious III" Mlunguzi have been patient enough into moulding a concept that had an idea of capturing Zeitgeist, the feel and direction that
the pop culture is pursuing. According to the German philosopher Georg Hegel Georg  " The Zeitgeist (spirit of the age or spirit of the time) is the intellectual fashion or dominant school of thought that typifies and influences the culture of a particular period in time. For example, the Zeitgeist of modernism typified and influenced architecture, art, and fashion during much of the 20th century".

The first time I had rough ideas about this design was back in 2012,when I sat down with a friend of mine and we were talking about elements of communication in the society through fashion, back then my ideal design was ""I am taken beach". I didn't put that product out for some reasons. here I am in 2014 with design that set a winning spirit out there, this range is for go getters, hustler, indie ladies and honchos of our generation.

I am more than a crop designer, I am not a t-shirt and caps designer , that is something I have proved and portrayed in my products throughout my period in fashion scene. Kick A$$ wear will have fashionable beanies, sweaters, accompanied by other casual items like shorts. Kick A$$ caps will be
out by spring but nothing will stop us from delivering a demand to the public.
This is about the courageous attitude, confidence not being arrogant, we Kick A$$ in what ever we do, we put put soul, mind hearts in what ever we set our eyes into.
I asked one of my clients  what she think the name Kick A$$ mean? she replied "It means I am the sh*t, am the thing, am boss, I Kick A$$". Thank you

Into the future-Gareth cliff

Cliff Central

Well I will begin this article by going through the phrase “Into the future”, we heard these three words the morning when Gareth Cliff delivered an announcement  that he promised the previous day which was Sunday when he said he there were “exciting
things” to tell listeners. A radio personality that began his journey at Radio Tuks to 5fm, nominated in Kid’s choice awards, Where does “Into the future” comes in all
this? Well as a fan of the morning show Gareth hosted for 10years this moment was portrayed as point in the controversial and outspoken DJ as  make it or break it without 5fm house, twitter was buzzing with #wheresGareth. Into the future were few words that could be fitted into the tailored piece of 140 twitter characters.

Well when I used “make it or break it” I am not saying I had doubt or anything but I am saying the public was questioning if would Gareth join another radio house that would limit him in so many ways since we all know and understand what he believes in, the voice of the voiceless. A friend with BCCSA, associates with individualism  traits, cousin to unhinged expressions with a guy that prefer standing alone, ohh wait Gareth called  Mabale Moloi, Thabo Modisane, Damon Kalvari and  Leigh-Ann Mol along  into the future.
On the 1st of March 2014 I downloaded a new social app, WeChat described as “the new way to connect” as a fashion student that is always curious about latest trends I was not willing to miss out, but I have to say I didn’t find this app interesting much as its rival whatsapp. In my surprise there isn’t much difference between whatsapp and WeChat instead WeChat is like innovation that will be a successor of facebook’s new born baby. How did I end up talking about WeChat  in Gareth’s “into the future “ article well because this morning 1th April 2014 I woke up and listened to Gareth Cliff’s voice on his new “unradio” channel on WeChat under ID as Cliff Central , yes Gareth has joined forces with WeChat AFrica.

So this is how  you add CliffCentral (with no space between the two words) on WeChat, you can listen to voice-notes from Gareth, Damon ,Mabalane and Mol updates of news, get latest pics ,be part of polls . Now Gareth can give exclusive to members of CliffCentral live from the Idol cast of judges let me push it and say maybe from a dinner table at his house to the songs he sings when taking a shower.
Gareth might put traffic jam leading to this new innovated texting app with( Live chat ,Group chat QR code, Chat history back up, Video call, Moments and Voice chat), that hasn’t gained enough popularity to the public.
Cliff Central unradio, uncensored , no hold backs, an open field with pink balloons  just Gareth with  needles in his hands ready to pop them with great pleasure, ,mhhhh who is going to stop him, not even BCCSA nor SABC , the first live streaming will be on 1st May 2014 .There is also a teasing thrailer by WeChat and Cliff central on youtube.com,  let the game begin, nha let this journey go on.  Keep this in your diary 6am-9am morning at 1st May 2014 Its going to be a "weekend babyyyyyy". -Xolile "Great Geneious III" Mlunguzi

Before Discovery part1-Great Geneious III

Born in Johannesburg in 1992, 2years later after Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, born the same day the American athlete Dan O'Brien sets world record decathlon,2 years before South Africa would witness its first free and fair democratic elections. This is the story of Xolile “Great Geneious III”, born out of wedlock to Nondumiso Mlunguzi as a second born following his sister Ncediswa Mlunguzi .

Xolile was moved to a dusty Eastern cape town little known as Ngqamakhwe,Ngcisininde in 1993 as Nondumiso Mlunguzi (his mom) could not manage work and new born baby roles.

Ngqamakhwe,Ngcisininde’s childhood memories would be when after 2years of first democratic election in 1994 energy was delivered to the rural areas, 1996 the year that Ngqamakhwe  were privileged enough to be provided with electricity for the first time in their lives, Xolile recall that special moment when the Eskom people came to install and switch on the plugs to declare light into the dusty hopeless lives.

His Great Grand Mother Mrs Mlunguzi Albertina was busy working in the vegetable garden , Xolile went running to inform his Great Grand MA of this magical surprise, a kiss into his cheek expressed Mrs Mlunguzi’s joy. At first grade at Sobekwa j.s.s , he was at Intermediate Phase choir, he sat at front and sang first soprano with girls, glory days of choral music began with so much enthusiasm filled in his heart.

From 1998-2005 Xolile attended school at Ngqamakhwe then moved to Butterworth, Vulli-Valley township in 2006 to further his junior secondary school studies, this is the moment that saw him leaving choral music to start writing poetry and rap music, he lost interest in choral and found hip hop as a culture that he could relate more than any other genre of music.

In 2010 April 27th marked Xolile’s first public performance as a rapper, it was on the Freedom day celebration event held at his school,  Msobomvu senior secondary school. At 2011 when he matriculated in highs school he won the best behavior award for history department sharing the prestige award together with other two students from accounting and Physics.

In 2012 He enrolled in fashion design course at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University at Port Elizabeth.

The same year he got a chance of a life time to model for Mohair South Africa at the Absa Kirkwood wilds-fees festival and got his first cheque as a model. In 2012 he tried modelling as a hobby since he was in a new city, in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan , His biggest gig at that time was definitely the Absa Kirkwood wilds-fees festival that took place at end June to early July in courtesy of Mohair South Africa.
In July 4th 2012 he recorded his first song titled “Tweet Ya Love” produced by Majestic Drama (TrackOfficilazMusic Group)USA, In September 2012 he was part of the free creative fashion show as a model and
designer then came October’s gig where he was called by Nabi Tlhalefang (NMMU fashion designer graduate, Botswana nationality) and Dirk Moggee (NMMU photographer graduate) for a shoot in the wild, 50km out of PE. He claims that photo shoot changed everything and set him on a new era as a rapper achieving little things that were leading to greatness.

As a model his early moments have been captured by likes of Sasha Hatherly in 2012 , also caught at backstage by Astrid Bradley in 2013. Fast forward to 2014 now he have a new music coming up, “Great Geneious III” song as his second impression also introducing his new name from being Geneious III when he recorded “Tweet Ya Love” now to Great Geneious III.

“Great Geneious III” the song touches on the personal side of his life, the loss of his Uncle on May 2013 and the fact that he was away from home and couldn’t attend funeral, he also jokes around being born out of wedlock.

He gives few shout out to his childhood late friend Sintu Sikhundla and yes he has fueled the record with hard punch lines but  the public will be the judges to that, he compares himself to the top selling DJ Heavy K when it comes to “started from the bottom” hustle.

He is the founder of House of MA fashion , this year he have a new Urban street wear trade mark under House of MA called Kick A$$ wear, let the game begin.
